The brief for this twenty year old good-class bungalow in an upmarket district of singapore called for a major architecture revamp and renovation of the house. Since the original structure was in good condition, only the structural shell was retained with a full refurbishment of the internal. Modern lifestyle items such as a glass shaft lift, wine cellar, home theatre room, new kitchens, walk-in-wardrobes and bathrooms were added to the original layout to suit the new requirement of the owners. A contemporary interpretation of the classical language of the existing house was employed, resulting in a fusion of old and new, which blends together harmoniously to achieve a timeless elegance befitting of the original architecture.
